Queens Together, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and food insecurity, is gearing up for its third annual International Food Expo, which will be held in Corona, Queens next week. The event promises an exciting evening of culinary delights from around the world, with over 40 Queens-based restaurants coming together to support the organization’s mission.
Taking place on Thursday, December 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the expo will be hosted at the New York Hall of Science, located at 47-01 111th St. This highly anticipated event is a chance for food lovers to experience a diverse range of international cuisines, all while contributing to a great cause.
A Culinary Journey Through Queens
Queens is known for its vibrant and diverse food scene, and this event is no exception. With more than 40 local restaurants showcasing their signature dishes, attendees will be treated to an array of flavors from all over the globe. From Caribbean street food to authentic Korean dumplings, there will be something for every palate.
Some of the standout participants include Datz Deli from Hollis, which will bring Caribbean street food to the table, and Northern King Dumpling from Murray Hill, known for their mouth-watering Korean dumplings. For those looking for a taste of something more exotic, M. Wells, a Québécois steakhouse in Long Island City, will be serving up their unique and delectable dishes.
Another exciting addition to the lineup is Mezban House, a halal Bangladeshi restaurant from Elmhurst, which will offer guests a taste of South Asian cuisine. Also featured is Zaab Zaab, a critically acclaimed Thai restaurant in Elmhurst that earned a prestigious three-star rating from The New York Times. Newly opened Woodside bakery Masa Madre and Ridgewood’s Salty Lunch Lady will provide a selection of sweet treats, making sure that the event caters to every part of the meal.
Supporting a Great Cause
The Queens Together International Food Expo is not only a celebration of the borough’s diverse culinary culture, but it’s also a fundraiser aimed at addressing food insecurity in Queens. Since its founding in 2020, Queens Together has provided over 400,000 meals and groceries to individuals and families in need across the borough. The proceeds from the food expo will directly support the organization’s food relief programs.
By attending the event, guests will help contribute to the fight against hunger in Queens while enjoying a memorable evening of food and community. Each ticket purchased will go toward furthering the nonprofit’s mission of ensuring that no one in Queens goes hungry.
VIP Experience and Exclusive Offerings
For those looking to elevate their experience, VIP tickets are available for $150. VIP ticket holders will enjoy exclusive benefits such as access to a private lounge, express check-in, and special “swag.” For general admission, tickets are priced at $100, offering access to the full event and a chance to sample an incredible variety of international cuisines.
One of the event’s most exciting features is the debut of Alewife Brewing Company’s Queens Together Pilsner. This German-style beer was created specifically for the non-profit, with a portion of all sales—both can and keg—going toward Queens Together’s food relief programming. Alewife founder Patrick Donagher explained that the beer was crafted with the diverse food offerings in Queens in mind, making it the perfect pairing for everything from BBQ and pizza to spicier dishes like Thai and Korean cuisine.
“I hope we can do good things with this beer,” Donagher said. “Anything we can do to help the hungry, we’re all in.” The Queens Together Pilsner is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
